gba rom making questions
« on: June 30, 2007, 12:34:46 am »
The purpose of this topic is how to make legal roms.  I have Pokemon FireRed and I want to cheat like the dickens in it.  I have a nephew that I let talk me into getting FireRed so that we can trade.  I, however, got the same exact cart that he has.  I want to make a copy of FireRed, which I own, and play it with a Gameboy emulator on my own computer.  I have an old Gameshark Pro for the PSX that let you scan the game's memory and hack out your own codes.  There is no product , that I know of, that can let me do that for the GBA.  The emulators that are out there will let me modify memory, search for greater/less than, etc.  All I want to know is about the hardware that will let me read the cart rom and load it to the PC.  I do not want to know about flash carts or anything else like that.

With that being said, I give admins the ok to either change the name of this thread or send it to Post Heck.

I've seen a product that looks like a modified USB cable.  One end is USB, the other is the GBA link cable end.  Can I use something like that to read the cart?
