Hantarex MTC9000 broken down
« on: June 28, 2007, 09:44:41 am »
Hello everyone,

this is my first post so let me first introduce myself:
My name is André and I'm from Dortmund, Germany. I like to play Arcade in the 80's with Games like Galaga, Crazy Kong, Amidar and so on. But my favorite game is Phoenix.
Last year a dream became true and I got an Konami Quadro Games. I added MAME and got some PCBs (Phoenix of course ;-) ).
Last week the monitor, a Hantarex MTC9000 25" broken down, no picture and the chassis fan slows down. Now I'm looking for a multisync monitor like Hantarex Polostar. But I read about the problems with the adjustments after very resolution change so I thing this ain't the right thing for me.
Does anybody got an suggestion for an 25" arcademonitor purchaseble in Germany? It don't need to be a mutltisync but it must be 25" cause it has to fit the turning mechanism.

Greets from Germany

Thanks for the Tip!
I did not know pentranic. I contacted suzo in Germany but they told me they only sell Elo monitors (I was looking for a Markvision).
Now I contact Pentranic and waiting for their answer...

Hey André(from Germany), it's André (from Holland) here :D

Why go the hard and expensive way ?? Buy A (2nd hand) TV and use the SCART connector :D

25" should be about 64 cm TV.

Hi André from Holland (nice Country!),

thanks for your suggestion but I like the original arcade feeling and for this I need a arcade monitor.
Since my Hantarex broken down I was looking for a multisync cause of the vantages using it with mame. But its hard to find a multisync in 25" but this is what I need becaus it has to fit the turnig mechanism of my cab as I said.
For the time beeing I'am looking for some one who can repair my monitor. But it would be nice to get the impossible  ;)

Hi André, (Germany is great too, we come there pretty often, especially Cologne. And I love the Autobahn ;) )

I understand. Of course you can't get the mid-res with a TV-set, but otherwise, the "feeling" of a TV is exactly the same as an "arcade" monitor. When you use the RGB inputs of the SCART connector, the TV acts as a monitor, completely bypassing any quality degrading things like TV tuners or decoders. The picture is exactly the same.

An arcade monitor is nothing more than a TV without a tuner.... :)

But if you really need mid-res, it will be tough to find one....
