monitor for mame question
« on: April 21, 2003, 09:17:35 am »
 Hello

i'm about to build a mame cabinet which i would like to  install an arcade monitor into it.

  so the question is this.
after installing an arcadevga card , what monitor will be the best bet to go with, atm the cabinet will be an x turtle cab, which has a blown 26in installed , so i would like to get another 26in monitor.

so now over to you experts  ;)

  Thanks

What is "blown" in the monitor it has now? Most monitors are fixable. I wouldn't just give up on a monitor that size without at least trying to fix it.

You should get a standard resolution arcade monitor.

  The tube is caputt :)
and too many other things to fix on the board.
was seen by an arcade tech and was told to throw it away.

You should get a standard resolution arcade monitor.

And how does the arcadevga look running pacman and pengo etc games.
can you get them to fill the top and bottom of a horizontal screen ?
 thanks

I have often wondered about vertical games displayed horizontally on an arcade monitor. They have simply got to be losing some resolution.
