USB Opti-Pac Problem
« on: June 17, 2007, 04:18:25 pm »
I just recieved my USB Cables from Ultimarc.  Both my I-Pac and Opti-Pac were working just fine in Serial Mode.  I got the I-Pac working in USB mode by switching the jumper.

But my Opti-Pac installs as an "Unknown Device" and will not function.  I tried unplugging it and replugging it in while the sytem was up.  The OS stated that it could not recognise the USB device.

I'm using XP-SP2 with an Intel D865GBF MOBO.

I'm just one version off of the most recent Bios.  The latest Bios only had two changes which affected the video so I did not load it.  I did load the most recent Chipset for the mobo which had a USB update.  But it did not help the situation.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have also posted this on Ultimarc's forum at Mameworld.
Thanks,
Wiliamo

usb mouse and keyboard enabled in the pc bios configuration setting?

right click on my computer go to properties then harware then device manager and see if there is any hardware driver issues listed if so delete them ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- the pc down and reboot it then shut it down again and install the opti-pac and boot the pc and see if it does not pick-up correctly does not sound like a bios or os issue but more of a driver problem I also found ulti's ps2 version work great and some of the usb give issue's for some pc's.
