Z-64 Price Check
« on: June 14, 2007, 10:59:35 am »
Hi all,
I had a sort-of trade going for the z64 I have, but that seemed to die out (haven't heard back in a bit).
Now that I have this thing dusted off, all together again, and taking up space on my kitchen table, I'm curious what it's worth nowadays..
It's pretty bastardized into a PC case (don't ask  ;D), but works completely.

Any thoughts on what these are going for nowadays?

IS the N64 integrated into the case?  If so, does it come with controllers and whatnot?

You can see the N64 in the shot from the rear of the case.

Yeah, the n64 is in there along with the memory expansion (whatever that is called), along with 4 controllers and extension cables

I'ts not pretty inside, but as I said, it does work, hehe

the Z64 originally sold for $400, then dropped later to $300.  Obviously you wont get that now, even with the integrated N64 and what not.  Just posting that for reference.

Some info about it here for anyone interested

LOL, yeah, I'm in no way expecting that, it's hard to get current pricing for these things, as eBay won't allow them to be listed, and most of my google searches come up with 2-3 year old threads  :)

Anyone?
Anyone recently purchased one of these?
Hell, at this point, I'll take guesses  :)

Cheers!

Is it V1, V2 or V3? (What letter does it say after the bios version on power up, A, B or C?)

If its a V3, does it have the "freeze mod" done on it?

I bought one about a year ago for just over $100 + shipping (V3, with freeze mod).

I've modded mine to use a compact flash now instead of a HD. (needs a bios update).

I'd probably pay more for a z64 in its original state than in the PC case. The nice thing about the Z64 is that it was moulded to match the N64.

Yeah, I agree it would be better if it was in the original case :-)
The original one was crushed when the box it was in was buried in a landslide, thus the removal :-)
It's a v3, not sure about the freeze mod, and I'll have to check on the startup code when I get home.
Thanks for the reply!
