simply awesome.   You can take screenshots in game and upload them to the Forza website for free.

hmmm...well i really dont know a whole lot about this game.  is it just a standard racer with good graphics?  i tend to only like the more extreme style racers (burnout, mario kart, etc.)  for instance...i think gran turismo is one of the most boring game franchises ever.  so...will i like this game?

You will hate this game.  It is a pure simulation.  Not an arcade racer at all, so if you're not interested in the physics of your car and checking over every aspect of your car, don't even bother.

It's a fantastic game for those of us who like that though.  Truly awesome.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

How does Forza 2 compare to GT in terms of simulation details? Someone was telling me there are ways to see your tire heat. Does it take that into account in the actual mechanics or is it just visual fluff?
I got pretty good at GT with more surface level tweaking, but I never got into manually picking gear ratios or anything like that. Would I be able to have a good car and good experience in Forza 2 without going OCD on the setup?

Forza is like GT in most ways.  GT has dirt tracks.  But Forza has damage and more driving aids for beginners.  Forza has a dynamic driving line.  It will show you the line to take, when to gas, when to coast, and when to brake based on your current speed.

The game plays like GT.  You start out at the proving grounds and do races.  As you rank up you unlock the next sections until you get to pro/endurance racing.   You get money for your races and a car at the end of each series.

One thing forza has is online racing.  you can do online career racing which earn you credits for single player.

If you check out forzamotorsports.net you can see many things that you can do online like auction off your cars.

I want the sim aspect, something that is always lacking in console racing games (Gran Turismo is a physics joke compared to most PC sims). Is Forza on par with PC racing sims like rFactor?
Are there decent wheel pedal setups for the 360, like with separate axis brake and throttle?

I have the official M$ wheel, but its a bit sensitive for me.  Forza 1 was infinitely better then GT3 and 4 combined in terms of physics and AI and Forza II is even better on every level. You can watch replays and tune the car's camber, toe, tire pressure, EVERYTHING its neat but optional (thank god)

Im lovin it but its startin to get dam hard especially the no mods allowed races

Well, I finally took the plunge and bought a 360 and Forza 2 yesterday and I must say i'm very satisfied with it.
Looks like you only have to get as detailed as you want, so that you can either treat it as a straight detailed racer Or throw in huge micromanagement. Haven't tried online play, when I was about to set it up I looked at the clock and realized 6 hours had passed without my knowing and I had to wake up for work soon. >.>

I dislike simulation like gran turismo as well.  I'm more of an arcade racer like need for speed etc

Darth, That is really cool, makes me think about buying a 360. I'm assuming you have the actual arcade controls hooked up to the 360? How did you do this?

If you watch the whole video, he shows that he put in a 360 wheel and a regular TV screen.
$6.75 the hard way-one quarter at a time.

I also tryed with Ridge Racer 6... very cool  8)
There is only one bad thing with that setup -> most xbox360 games have to be used on a widescreen TV. And when you play these games on a 4/3 tv or monitor, you have the two black bars on the screen... not the best arcade feeling, but.. it's just a detail... to mention  :)

I really plan to put an second Xbox360 in my other Daytona Cab, and link both cab together  ::)
Soon... very soon ... Sega Rally on Xbox Live Arcade  8) check here : http://www.xblarcade.com/taxonomy/term/181
