Arcade guys - Supplier for Sticker Club refills?
« on: May 27, 2007, 07:28:10 am »
Hey all,

Here's the story.  I landed a sticker club machine for $49 on ebay.  I thought I might part it out for a project...seems ideal for a mame machine (computer in it, monitor, etc.).  So I get this thing home and the wife and daughters see it and determine it must go into the game room "as-is".  They love it!  Being the wise husband/father that I am, I agree.  I know when I am beat.   :P

So, now the problem.  I can find suppliers of the refill kit online (Sony UPC-S16) but I have yet to see a price under $100 for a 100 pack.   :hissy:

I was wondering if any of you might know of a US supplier where I could do a little better?

Thanks,
Rick

A quick search shows a lot of suppliers are showing this as discontinued or soon-to-be discontinued. A single birthday party will burn through your entire stock.

What about the possibility of replacing the mechanism inside that uses more readily available, and cheaper, film?

You are right, and I am considering that.  I thought about trying to get it to work with a modern photo printer (same quality).  That may still be an option, but I would have to look at pc and software package inside the thing to see if it will mesh up.  It's an old barebones win 95 machine. No USB to help with modern printers.  Luckily the guy I won it from threw in all the parts (except monitor and bill acceptor) from a second Sticker Club.

Pretty good - I got the machine and spare parts for $49- and then when I checked the bill acceptor it had $4 in it.   ;)
