I don't have any space or specific use for it... but wow.  That would rock.

Looks like a ShopSmith to me. You know they're a complete piece of crap, right?

Piece of crap is directly relative to price... for $250, it's not that bad.  I could be wrong but that appears to be a cast iron top tablesaw and bandsaw... is that a lathe too?

That is a shopsmith, and while not great, would probably be worth 250 just to have it setup the way you will mostly use it and leave it like that.  The biggest pain with shopsmiths was having to take things apart every time you wanted to use it as a different tool.

I was given an original Shopsmith a couple years back. Not even sure if it works but I was planning on replacing the wiring to see if I can get it running. I've always wanted a lathe to play around with but don't have enough use to consider buying one.

The other plan is to part it out and make a few bucks over ebay.

The current version incorporates a tablesaw, lathe, disc sander, horizontal drill, and drill press. Sorry, no bandsaw. I don't see a rip fence in the pictures of the $250 one, which could be a problem if you're expecting to use it as a tablesaw...

Just so it's said, I'm not considering buying that thing.   :)

Would a rip fence be a part you could get and add back in?  Presumably it came with one.

you can make a rip fence, many fine woodworking books have diagrams for them because most readers end up purchasing ( i have one myself ) a cheap benchtop craftsman, and cheap rip fences won't let you do finish quality work.

By finish quality i mean not having to replane after a cut, just sand it smooth.
