Help finding a FE to meet specific needs
« on: May 11, 2007, 04:13:58 pm »
As some of you know I am in the middle of a bartop build for my Dad.  I will have a switchable joystick and a trackball with a vertical monitor.  What I am looking for in a front end is one where I can seperate the games lists based on the control used, 4-way joystick, 8-way joystick, Trackball (and Spinner using trackball?).  I can also put the games in separate folders depending on the control type.  Essentially a menu tree where the first level is the control type and the second level is the list of games for that control.  The front end must also be controlled by the joystick, connected to a KeyWiz.

I would also like to use FreeDOS if possible if not, TinyXP will be the OS of choice.

Thanks,

Have a try of MaLa using the 'Mala Tree' option..

You would first set up your game lists (using the tool game list tool provided- malgamelist.exe) then set up yout Tree Menu Stucture.

 8) Looks good.  Does this work on DOS as well or am I stuck with Windows?

**Edit** nevermind, looked at the home page and it says it is for windows.  As long as it is stable then I am ok with that.
