I believe I read elsewhere that it may have been an intentional put-on.

snopes is really getting carried away aren't they?

People say stupid things all the time - not every one of them needs a snopes entry.

Now if they wanted to put an entry for " adding 3 weeks to daylight savings increased global warming" then fine.
