It's all about having something more than the other guy when you're going after that first job. Who would you hire, a guy with a Finance degree or a guy with a double major in Finance and Accounting (or Economics or Real Estate, etc)? It's another feather in a resume when the resume tends to be lightest (right after graduation). You don't get the additional major with plans of skipping past the entry level positions, it gives you a leg up in that quest for a good first job.
