DL in MAME!
« on: May 02, 2007, 10:39:19 am »
Yah right... it was a short 4 months ago that the big hype was that MAME was going to support Dragons Lair and other laser games.

There was speculation that DL support would happen around the 10th anniversary (Mid March if I remember).

Anyone seen the CHD's?   Anyone seen any evidence the current code works?

Not I.  I'm also not interested in the 30-60 Gig CHDs they were talking about either.  :laugh2:

I am not much interested in DL per se,  but instead the games Daphne doesn't emulate.

I see Mad Dog McCree in the game list lately but I imagine that would be similar to DL as far a support goes.  Anybody have a good way to play that game?  That game was the single largest financial drain of my arcade days, I have never been really good at playing games, so when I enjoy one and start to think that I am getting OK at it I have to play a lot, and it was one of the first $1 games I remember, money goes fast that way.

Teetering on the brink of PH, but I haven't even been able to locate the CHD for Mad Dog McCree . . .

You could always buy the game from digital leisure.  I'm not sure if it works with the new Daphne version though.

Now that you mention it I think I remember seeing that product at their (or somebody's) website.  Of course I'd also have to get a light gun, so either way I guess it's going to cost a pretty penny.  However light gun=the newfound ability to play many more of the games I loved in my youth, what I REALLY need is a wheel.

What I found interesting was any kind of address by Aaron about how it would function, particularly with such large files, which leads me to think he has something up his sleeve.....but perhaps not.
