Hinges for front panel (coin door panel)
« on: April 30, 2007, 10:11:11 am »
What kind of hinges are you using for your coin door panels?
(not for the coin door itself, but for the panel it is mounted on...
say, I want to be able to open this panel like a door to
access the computer).
My front panel is 3/4" MDF sandwiched like an "H" in-between
my two side panels.  I thought about using two 12" piano hinges
but these are pricey.  I saw something in Saint's book but
can't quite make out what it is from the photo.

Thanks....

I'm not 100% certain about your door setup, but by the sounds of it, you're looking for concealed hinges, commonly referred to European-style hinges.

I used inset frameless Euro hinges for the door on my cab.  So if your door is anything like mine, they should work great for you.  They're pretty cheap too, maybe $5 for a pair.

Looked at your website and pictures... the inset picture
most closely matched --- that's it.  The price is way, way
better than piano hinges too.  (Good thing I didn't open
them yet ;)

Thanks

About half way down this thread is a picture of some Euro hinges in use on a CP top.  Same principle for a door (except those aren't the inset ones).
