Using CLRmame Pro for support files--help.
« on: April 15, 2003, 02:57:49 pm »
I have had good success using CLRmame pro for organizing MAME roms through the scanner portion of the program.  Now I would like to use it for my support files, ie, cabs, marquees, flyers, etc.  I have tried some, but with no success.  My files for the cabinets, flyers, etc. have been unzipped for use with my front-end.  Not sure if that is alright or not, have heard they should be zipped.  Anyway, can someone give some real good tips on getting CLRmame pro to work for recognizing and finding missing support files?  Do you need to use the rebuilder?  How?
Some very detailed advice would be great--not extremely experienced with CLRmame Pro or MAME, so be as basic as possible please.  Thanks for any advice.

As per the instructions on mame32qa, you need to use the rebuilder.

Create 2 temporary directories, name one "old" the other "new".

Drop all the source zips in the "old" directory.

Run clrmame pro and load the appropriate .dat.

Click rebuilder and rebuild from the "old" dir to the "new" dir.

Take the new .zip from the "new" folder and put it were it belongs in your mame installation.
