REAM error on my Area-51/Maximum Force
« on: April 18, 2007, 03:13:38 pm »
I have Area-51/Maximum force and my game just started acting weird, the game will start but a few moments into it the game goes into a diagnostics screen titled "REAM Error" and a bunch of code follows that and at the bottom it displays: "Three strikes and You're Out".  Do you know if this is a hard drive error?  I ran ROM checks and all memory is OK.  Has anyone heard of this before?

Regards, Eric

Tap the Start button 3 times. Then let the game load. Check the power supply voltage to be +5.1-+5.25v. Then go to test mode and restore factory settings, clear the high scores, erase the EEPROM. This <u>might</u> clear the problems.

I'm having the same problem. I have an Area 51/Max Force. I bought it from an arcade that was closing. It didnt work... one problen was the hard drive. I put a new HD in but now I get the REAM error. The screen comes up, I choose the game I want, then the mission, then sometimes it will let me shoot a few "bad guys" then the error code comes up, usually after picking the mission the error code comes up. when it does, I can hit the start button 3 times and the game select menu comes back up (to chose Area 51 or Max force) I have taken out and reinserted the 4 security chips incase there was a bad connection. I havent found the problem yet
