Doesn't the Wii run on a PowerPC chip? One of the reasons that Apple switched to Intel for it's Macs is they couldn't manufacture the chips fast enough. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Computer processors are going to be in way higher demand than console processors. Even if Mac had a shortage of PP processors, I don't know that it properly translates to Nintendo.

Of course, Macs aren't particularly popular so maybe there's some truth in it. I'd have to see some numbers before I'm convinced one way or the other.
