My play time is limited so If i know I'm beat and cant figure out something, I go to gamefaq just to get me past that one part, then I continue on.  If i find myself having to go back often, then I consider just quitting.

I periodically get gamefaq help, and it pisses me off.  I only resort to cheating after like three hours of banging my head against the wall trying to figure something out.

I'm even worse than that.  I've not finished games because I won't look at faqs.  I never finished Metroid Prime because I couldn't figure out the technique for beating that giant ass pirate guy near the end.

Then again, I tried for two weeks to find help on a part where I was stuck on N64 Paperboy, and there wasn't ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- out there to help me.   :laugh2:

You can't put a spoiler alert and the spoiler on consecutive lines!   :laugh2:

We found the game for rent (my wife: "let's rent before we buy it.").  It's not a bad idea to rent the ones you're unsure of,  but between the two of us, we played for about 2 hours, getting to level 1-3.  We're sort of stuck, looking for the red palm tree (I figure we missed something simple somewhere).   Bascially we love it - but I do get tired of all the text at the beginning....and Count Blech's ego is WAY out of control (which to me was only funny the first few times, then got tiresome).

The 2D to 3D is a really, really neat element of the game, however.

Back to the topic at hand... I played a demo of SPM at GameStop on my lunch break. It was a whole lot of fun. I might need to pick it up! Ya'll weren't kidding about all the dialog, though.

It definitely is worth wading through the early tedium.  When you start collecting new pixls and characters it adds a lot of new possibilities to the gameplay.  And the humor seems to be getting better and better as the game progresses.

I think that's the level I played (and beat) on my lunch break. I could give you some pointers, but that might be "cheating".  :P

I picked it up yesterday and have been having a lot of fun with it.  It's definately worth buying (unlike Warioware which I traded in to help buy this one).

It took me a little while to find the red palm tree too, so don't feel like your alone on that one.
