wells Gardner 4600 no color

Hi, I have a  cabinet which I am putting a mr do's castle in. I bought a jamma adapter for the board and am in the process of re-wiring the cabinet to make it a jamma cabinet. It has a wells gardner 4600 monitor in it and when I turned the game on I have no color. Well almost no color I can get a bit of red. Before I re-wired it I had no problems with the colors. Any ideas of what to check for? Also a quick one, I just got a  Nintendo Donkey Kong  and the fluorescent light for the marquee was not working. I opend it up and found that  there is a small bulb in the ballast that was burnt out (not the fluorescent tube),  where can I get a replacement for it. Most  fluorescent fixtures i have seen have starters in them but this was the first time I have seen what looks like a small light bulb in place of a starter. I understand that this is what nintendo used.

On the 4600,try turning up the "Black Level Control" on the video interface board first. If that doesn't help, then try the "Screen" control on the neckboard.

As to your Nintendo cabinet light fixture yes that's a special screw base starter not normally available in this country. Bob Roberts and arcadeshop should have them, but they are very expensive.

IMO it's easier and cheaper to just get a modern "under the counter" light fixture at Home Depot or Walmart for $5.

Thanks for your response Ken. While connecting the wires for the color to the video board I noticed that the pins on the board where lose, so I took the board off and noticed that all the traces for the pins to the board were broken. Did a patch job with some solder and bingo I have color. Also thanks for the info on the nintendo ballast starter.
