Newbie Question with WG 25K7193 monitor
« on: April 08, 2007, 02:39:08 pm »
OK, please bear with me and be patient as I'm new working with an arcade monitor.  I just picked up a MK3 game in a Simpsons CAB at a local auction.  I want to Mame the CAB and use the 25" WG 25K7193 monitor cause it's in great condition IMO.  Now here's where I get confused.  I'm planning on using Ultimarc Arcade VGA card to hook up my monitor to my PC to run Mame cause I read it's simple to setup.  Besides the VGA card, what else do I need to get the monitor to work with my PC?  Is a JPAC required as well to plug into my Jamma?  Just trying to get a start on how to use the monitor.  I did read Ultimarc's FAQ related to the VGA card and JPAC but some of the info/terminology is a little confusing to me as well as some of the other threads I read.  I did successfully Mame an old Defender CAB using a Keywiz and CRT monitor, but I'd prefer the real thing (arcade monitor) for this project.  Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.  I added some pics of the monitor. Cheers!

J-PAC isn't *required* but it does make it dead easy to wire your cab.  Just plug it into the JAMMA harness and play.

That looks like a nice set up, you are one lucky guy! Just curious if your friend is going to help you out on your new project?   :laugh2:

If I plug the JPAC into my Jamma harness I know I can start using the CP.  However...if  I want to use my own CP can I just swap Jamma wires to my new CP buttons and joysticks everything should work out fine right?  If I want to use a trackball and TT2 which are both ps2, that shouldn't conflict with the JPAC right?  And will the JPAC be hooked up to my coin mecs?
