Atomic ini issues
« on: April 08, 2007, 12:14:09 am »
When I have Atomic use Mame32, it does everything fine.  I use a command-line version, it doesn't read the ini's: controls aren't the same; game info is displayed. There might be other things, but these are the two I've experienced.

OH, and sometimes, the manager decides it just wants to all of a sudden be in French.  Even after deleting the French text files, it only maybe half the time aske me if I wanna make english.

Are you sure you got the last patch from my website?

what version of mame you use?  Are you sure .INI file are in the same folder that mame.

Can you put here, the .CFG file that doesn't work.

Ah, I'm not sure what I did, but I got it to work an all. Don't know why in the first place it didn't cos I just copied from one computer to the other. I even changed some of the sounds; I like that yours will play wav or mp3, whatever it seems. Now my question is: I set the custom 1 and 2 folders to cpanels and cabinets. I don't see it displaying these so I'm wondering how it does this? If this is in the docs, I'll look for it, eventually. Thanks.

cpanel , cabinets or what you want picture will be displayed  only if the layout you are using  has been designed to display "dynamic Custom" objects.

What layout do you use?

You can modify or build your own layout using AtomicLayoutEditor ,  the objects that manage displaying of mame extra are   Snap object (match with snap folder)  Marquee object (match with marquee folder)  Dyn Custom objects (match with custom dirs).

Of course you can use for instance MArquee object to display flyers if you want.  Atomic don't care of what it is , it just look for the adhoc image in the given folder.

For documentation, did you check documention that are online on my website?  Have a look to the old documentation too , may be this part is more described (not sure).

Did you see there is a dedicated AtomicFE support forums in english , here : http://spaceinvaders.7.forumer.com/

It would be nice ,to have all technical question concerning Atomic  posted on that forum , just to centralize all information.

Anyway, that's not a problem for me to answer here.  It is just for others what are looking for information it easiest to search in only one forum.

Oh, sorry.  I wondered but have been so busy fooling around with various fe's I hadn't gotten a chance to look for an Atomic forum. I wondered if it was a layout thing. Thanks.
