Which is better WG Chassis
« on: March 30, 2007, 01:54:50 pm »
I am working on a deal that will include a 25" Wells Gardner monitor.

Which chassis is better of the following...or are they so similar that it really doesn't matter?

Model No. 25K7193 Manufactured, June 1994
Model No. 25K2193 Manufactured, August 1996

Thanks...

EDIT: From a quick search here the 2193 seems to be plagued with issues (according to Ken)...perhaps the 7193 is the better choice.

K7000's are easy to diagnose and repair.  Get that one.

Looks like I am ass out.  I went to take a gander at the monitors and both tubes had scratches.  The guy is going to try to polish them out (I told him to try toothpaste) but I doubt they are going to polish out enough for me to be happy.   Too bad too.

BTW: Just so I know,  are the two chassis compatible with each tube?  He had the chassis separate from the glass but said both tubes would work on either chassis.

One tube was scratched bad,  the other was scratched enough I didn't want it...

Bummer... looks like they were stored on their faces...

I could probably get one for $100 now with the scratches...but bah...I'd be annoyed with the scratches...though smoked plexi would probably make the scratches go away?

Now I am trying to convince myself...

Argh...25" arcade monitors are hard to come by here in Boise.

Tell him you'll take both of them for $100.  Then just get yourself some new tubes.

$100 for both...if they work.

The 25 inch tube is hard to come by.
And since those are both scratched as bad as you make it sound.............. :dunno
