You're right on the money shmokes, it does seem much more realistic. What I do find annoying, after a while, is the announcers - but of course there is a way in the options to shut them up. They will basically make you feel lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut for your poor shot making, to the point that they're laughable (hey if you can't laugh at yourself, right?). This, however, gets remedied as your play improves.
And while I'm here, yes, the read of power also works on the practice putts as well. I'm not sure what it's been getting in the mags, but overall I'd give it an 8.5 myself, to maybe a 9. Unless you just tear up most golf games, however, DON'T expect miracles if you're using your "Mii-like" golfer (read: create your own character). He / She must grow and develop as a player. It took me to the midpoint of my first season year to feel comfortable with everything (power, targeting, etc). Can't get too cocky either, due to the fact that one wrong flip of the wrist will leave your ball in high grass or swimming with the fishies!
The one course I've finally had to skip for now is the Central Park one. I played it once, sucked, played it a second time, did ok, then sucked again at the third time which I finally skipped.
Bottom line from me: those interested in a superior golf game for Wii need to pick this title up. Definitely worth the $50.
