POWERSTRIP PROBLEMS
« on: March 12, 2007, 11:40:22 am »
Hi all. i have since 3 years powerstrip working with an ati raedon 9200 and a daewoo crt tv. i have now buy an ati sapphire X1600 pro AGP. Well i have configure 768x576i with no problem, but when i try to use de 640x480I (arcade) or 640x480 (ntsc), powerstrip crashes and returns to the list of resolutions without adding it. I have tried different versions of powerstrip but nonoe works.
¿Anyone Knows Why colud it be?. Thank you.

Are you running Vista?

What version on the ATI drivers are you running? Are they modified?

Is the "Advanced Timings" button  'greyed out' in powerstrip?

thank you for your reply Silver

i have the 7.1 cata list drivers incluided in the cd of the card. I think they are not modified. I suppose if thy are included in the cd they are the official ones.

the "Advanced Timings" buttons is not grey. i can push it and get into them but whn i select  640x480i it doesnt apply it, it returns with a "jump" to the list of resolutions

i don´t know what vusta is. I have not do nothing special

Vista as in Windows Vista, instead of XP - Powerstrip has issues with it.

Hmmm, if the Advanced Timing button is not greyed out, it means powerstrip supports your card and believes it can program it.

The custom resolutions thing - could be something ATI have changed in cat 7.1 but I doubt it.

Might be worth posting your pstrip.ini file in the Entech Powerstrip forums....

i have runnig windows xp profesional with service pack1.

i have try with earlier catalist drive, like 6, and the same problem happened to me. Sounds like the drivers block the reolutions or somthing like that. Or may be that this card is not supported yet by powerstrip.

Pretty sure powerstrip suppoers up to x1900...

Have you simply chaged gfx cards but still using the same pc?

IF so it could be some old config/registry settings messing powerstrip up. Uninstall pstrip, then manually navigate to the directory it was installed and delete it completely, and try re-installing.
