How big of a file would this roughly end up being?
I am creating some artwork for a 37" x 14" panel. The entire image is around 113 MB right now.
EDIT. Just to clarify, that's a .bmp file. Jpg version is much smaller, 23 MB.
To make it easier, I would be willing to skip the sky picture aspect of the CPO and just have the borders around the controls with a black background (with labels for all the controls). Does that make it the file size any more reasonable?
If it was just plain black it would probably be a smaller size. But if you are going to pay for the artwork ($70 ++ ) you might as well have it exactly like you want it (My opinion anyway). Size really isn't an issue; someone could send you the file via email.
In case you wondered, the reason why panel artwork is so large is because if you are going to print an image it needs to be atleast 300 DPI. (Dots Per Inch -- just a way to measure resolutions) Most computer image files are 72 DPI or less, which look fine on a computer monitor.
In short, for a panel your size, you need to have an image that has a resolution of 13200 x 6000.
I believe that is all correct...
Just as it is,
