Hey folks. I am at it again repairing a second Sanyo 20-EZ. I have one in my R-Type that was running fine and dandy til today, but more on that later.
I just finished a cap kit on another Sanyo, and when I got done, I fired it up to see how it looked. The output was set to Invert on the inverter board, and I got nothing on the display. When I switched it back to Non-Inverted, I get the regular backwards color picture from Mame. Figured the inverter board might be bad, so I replaced it with the Inverter board on the R-Type that was working fine at the moment. Same thing occured, and I got no display when I set the display to Invert.
I have the +16V lead attached and I do get a good readng from that. The only weird thing was that when I measured the voltage on the working monitor, I got about +12, but on the non-working monitor, I got +16. Other than that, I do not see any differences, and I don't think the inverter board is bad since i swapped them and got the same results.
On another note, while I was measuring the voltage on the working monitor, I shorted out the 16V with one of the pins on the Non-Invert pinout, and now I just have either a black or white display depending on where the connector is. I haven't done any troubleshooting, so I don't know if I have fried the inverter board or maybe a fuse or something, but if you have prior experience with the matter, anything helps.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.
Fred
