Monitor issue on DKJr
« on: February 24, 2007, 06:04:20 pm »
I already know the answer to this question but what the hell...I'll ask just in case.

The monitor in a DK Jr I just bought has the left side of the screen cut off (top? in horizontal position likely?)....CAP KIT should rectify this issue right?   And is this a Sanyo 20EZ?

Thanks!

(sorry for the crappy chassis pix...hard to get in there to take a good shot).

Definitely a cap issue.  I've capped three of those beasties in the last year with the same issue.  All fixed upon capping.

I get a slight shimmer effect as well...

And can you confirm the chassis type Peale?

Thanks bro!

PS:  The Sound is really muffled sounding with little treble,  I suppose I should cap the sound board as well (I read something about that being possible somewhere?)?

Looks like the Sanyo EZ-20 to me.

Yup.... clean it and cap it. (including the sound amp section)
Check the pots out good too while you are at it.

Looks like a Sanyo 20-pain in the A to me as well.  ;D
(actually I really like the 20-EZ)

I see that you don't have the inverter board, guess you're stuck with running Nintendo games huh?. ;)

Pictures of the Sanyo 20EZ and other monitors are at the monitor ID sites in the very first sticky post here on this forum. You should have looked there first.

Do people not read these stickies??????

Honestly, I think they need to stand out more. Like in bold RED lettering or something.
They tend to get skipped over as if they were just a regular thread.
The tiny thumbtack icon doesn't cut it.
Although "search" works real well too.  ;)

I could only get a partial view of the chassis...and indicated I thought it LOOKED like the Sanyo 20EZ (actually...I said that in the other thread in the main forum it seems)...

Sorry...my bad.
