I broke two fingers when I slammed a mini-van door on myself one time. That was not fun at all.
My little girl is 2 weeks old and I feel like I am torturing her everytime she gets a bath. She screams bloody murder pretty much the whole time.
Yeah, I've got an almost two week old daughter, so congrats from one daddy to another, Shardian.

I heard babies really don't need to be bathed, at least for the first month or two. Soap doesn't really help their skin and they just need to be wiped under their arms or on their faces once in a while with a warm wet rag or sponge. Obviously, if they smell generally, they need to be bathed, but so far our girl doesn't smell at all, so we haven't pulled out the bath from under the crib. That may be because she only gets mother's milk.

Just wanted to point out that you don't have to feel weird if she doesn't get a bath once a week or whatever.
Also, regarding diaper rash and changing in general, use a hairdryer to dry your babies' bottom. They love it (she sticks out her feet toward the hair dryer) and it apparently helps prevent diaper rash.
As far as falling asleep, if she's fussy

, we put her in a sling and go on walks when it's nice out and car rides otherwise. Had to do two car rides and half a walk tonight, since we were both tired during the early evening and let her sleep too long.
Our baby's needs are simple, but constant, but she is amazing already even for the short periods of time that she's awake and content.
