Yeah, he was going to wrestle at a recent WWE PPV and ended up being diagnosed with the cancer right before the event.  IIRC, he went to be treated for an injury and they were like, uh, we have some news for you and it ain't good.

In related news, my uncle is in Roddy Pipers latest B-movie     Sin-Jin Smyth.  Actually he was more of a stunt director and directed some of the 2nd and 3rd unit scenes, but he does have an onscreen role in the movie.

my uncle has worked with a ton of old wrestlers since he's been a stuntman for years.  He was even the main bad guy in a two part episode of Thunder in Paradise (Hulk Hogans show)

Yeah, when he was in his prime, he was greatness.  I remember him v. Snuka at the Boston Garden vividly.  Great stuff.  Right up there with Flair in his interview skills, too.  Trememdous all-around performer in his prime.


Actually had heard about "Smyth" months ago and liked the premise.  Didn't know until now that Hot Rod would be in it.  I think it's got potential to be as big as "They Live."

Very cool about your uncle.  "Hollywood stunt guy" was on my list of potential careers when I was much younger.
