Dallas Starcade - LIVES!
« on: February 19, 2007, 03:06:09 pm »
Alright...

4 days ago makes it exactly 4 YEARS since starting my arcade cabinet. Different things such as the birth of my 2 beautiful children to pure laziness has kept me from completing my journey.

3 weeks ago my wife asked me about the shell of MDF and primer sitting in the garage. I have been meaning to actually finish it. I told her I'd have it finished by the end of the month and reveal it at the my LAN party. She balked at me and told me that it wouldn't happen.

Flash ahead 2 1/2 weeks... I am at the final coat of paint, then onto mounting the Fluorescent light fixture, mount the coindoor and install the TV. I will be adding pictures to this post as soon as soon as the tape comes off after the final coat of paint on Tuesday.

It will be played this Friday... :)   :applaud:

Stay tuned

BTW,

You can check out the progress pictures and what not from my now-defunct website.

4 years?!  Geez man!  All those years you could have been playing some classic arcade games.  All those wasted years...

Hey just kidding, look forward to seeing the finished product!

Awesome project Richard. I'm into my project about 5 months and it feels like it could easily go 5 years.

The Stars theme is a great idea. There is a guy floating around byoac by that calls himself mccoy178. He did a cab themed after the Ohio state University and the Buckeyes. He takes some guff for it sometimes too. Then, turns out he goes and wins and award for it soooo hmmmm. Do a really good job and I guess you never know what could happen.

Nice work! Now make with the 50 month deadline will ya already?!?!?  :D

Alright... here are some pics I took last night. I will be mounting the light and wiring the speakers and coin door tonight.

Front View - Without the monitor and marquee

Right side - needs touchup a little

Left Side - Needs a little more touch up

Both sides will be added a gold & white stripe to outline the star shape on the bottom...

The front will need touch ups around the monitor and doors.
Thanks,

Nannuu

Alright!  I rarely jump on BYOAC much lately but I see you are on your way.  Looking good.
Next I'll be on fries, and that's when the big money starts rolling in.
