CoinCo Mech Types
« on: February 10, 2007, 04:13:08 pm »
I have a bunch of CoinCo coin mechs.  I'm trying to identify which mechs take what type of coin/tokens.

Some of them are straightforward because they're clearly marked.  Others I've had to try different quarters and tokens, etc on them to determine what they take.

The majority of them all appear to be alike.  I was *certain* they were all .900 mechs.  But now I'm thinking not - esp since I just found ONE mech that's clearly marked as .900.  You can see the difference between this one mech and the others that I thought were .900.  Some of the mechs will pass a .900 token thru 100% of the time, but the majority only do it 2/5 times

The marking on the sticker on the side is "5600-5" but under that, imprinted on the plastic itself is "5301-10".  Google has yielded *very* little in the way of information.  According to the manual for Stargate, for example, I find that, on page 26, "5301-10" refers to a quarter mech.  It's certainly not!  I'm guessing this number refers to the base part, and the stickers refer to the updated parts for accepting tokens.

Is there a list somewhere so I can identify what I've got?

Check out all the Coinco (Coin Acceptors, Inc.) manuals/parts lists I just submitted to bombjack.org

There's more to come later. Meantime check out the 5300 series manual I submitted there. Pretty sure the last page has some token mech info. I think I have a list somewhere that Coinco made in the mid 1980's that lists what part numbers are for what chutes and what country/denomination they are for. I plan on scanning it for bombjack once I find it again.

Thanks, Ken.  Though the info didn't help me exactly, it's a stepping point.

I think these might be .882 mechs.  That sucks if they are. I know I have ONE token of that size, but I'm not sure where it is.

Keep watching bombjack anyway. I'll be submitting more stuff over the next several weeks. I have limited room on my laptop harddrive so I can only scan so much at a time.

Just submitted the Coinco 5300 series model variation reference list. Don't think it's posted yet though. Take the "3" prefix off the number and you have the actual 5300 series number.

The Coinco model variation list is now posted over there under it's original title "Coinco Foreign Acceptors For Production". Remember to drop the 3 off the beginning of the part number to get the actual number.
