Golden tee 2005 greyish dark screen-wg1790179
« on: March 20, 2007, 07:40:43 pm »
I have a golden tee 2005 and when i went to play the other night the screen was a dark greyish picture with no color.I went to play it today and the screen is very very dark to where i could barely see a picture.I did retrieve some numbers off the back of the game.WG1790179and on a sticker it sais replace with a k7500 chassis only.Do i have to repalce the whole screen or just the chassis. Also if I could replace just the chassis how do i discharge the monitor.thanks

when fault finding problems there is one thing above all that is needed, logic.
the fact you have a picture is a start
have you done anything to this cab that may have caused this problem?
have you adjusted any of the monitor controls or unplugged anything at any time?
if you have changed anything or moved anything then go back and double check everything you have done first
next try checking the colour and contrast controls on the monitor remote board
check you +5volts to the logic board
golden tee 2005 have a graphics card, check the connections
does another game board show colours?

Right where the satellite control plugs in you should find a resistor - R811.  Lift one leg (unsolder it) and check it with your multimeter (ohms setting).  Should be 75K or thereabouts.  If it's not, that may be your problem.

The satellite control is the small board with all the wires leading back to the main chassis.  You use it to tune your monitor.  Follow the wires from this back to the main PCB and you'll find your resistor.

However, if you're asking these questions to basic answers, please have a professional check your monitor!

I agree with Peale. It would be better for both you and your monitor to let a professional repair it.
