Just saw Blue Man Group's "How to be a Megastar v.2.0" show last night.

SIMPLY FRIGGIN' AMAZING. I hear their Vegas show is even better. I want to go. Awesome.

The Boston show, in the tiny Charles Playhouse, is also amazing. Few things will ever be more value for your entertainment dollar.

Is that the same tour Chad? Or does it run year-round? This show had a quite a bit of singing from a guy and gal...I hear the Vegas show has near no singing.

Again...simply amazing. The opening act was a pretty kickass DJ too...which is saying a lot from me being that I am not all that impressed with DJ's.

It's not a tour. The Boston show is one of the original locations and has been running for many years now. I first saw it in the late 90s.

I saw them in Toronto last year at the Panasonic Theater. Amazing show. I'd like to see this tour.

I saw them in Boston and I was pulled on the stage to be part of the show. They picked me out before the show had even started so it was all pre-arranged. The blue men climbed into the balcony where we were sitting and pulled me to the stage. I had to go backstage and they show on the video screens what is being done to me. They then stuck me in this box that had a hole in the top for my head to go through. So I stick my head through and I'm inside a jello molded thing that covers my head. They wheel me out and then peel back the jello very dramatically. Then they pulled me out to much applause and fanfair. The cool thing was Steven Tyler and Liv were in the second row. I gave them the rock star point and they were clapping like crazy. Pretty cool experience.

That is cool. When I used to go I had a couple of friends who worked at the theater... I'd get random access to leftover seats from time to time. Somehow always in the very last row.

I would love to go see Blue Man Group. Tickets are pretty high from what I've seen...but SO worth it!

One of the few things worth a giant ticket price. Guaranteed to be memorable. Most entertainment dollars these days feel like you're flushing your money away but not with this show.

Yeah, that's what I wanted to know, how many of them entertainment dollars did you guys have to lay out for a ticket?

Last time I checked it was triple digits.

Won't argue with the level of entertainment or the sensory overload based solely on watching the dvd's!

Whoa! When we went in Toronto, it was ~$40 canadian and we had front row seats.

At the end of the show we were literally buried under all of the paper that they pull towards the front. Awesome show worth at least double what we paid.

I paid $52.00 for the "cheap" seats... the higher end ones were $78.00 but they didn't have 4 in a row by the time we attempted to purchase.

The vegas show (which I haven't seen) the tickets seem to go for just about $100, BUT there are tons of 2 for 1 coupons on that show.

I saw their touring show in seattle about 5 years ago, very memorable and fun. I've always enjoyed this type of performance art fusion....anyone remember Momenchance?

Yeah, they used to be on the Muppet Show and occasionally on the Carson show.....I never saw them in person, but as a kid I would have loved to.

I've seen their show twice -> 2 different shows. Very cool performance percussion. Its really neat how they relate the evolution of a story with their music, and they portray that onstage as well. The second show I saw (about 4 years ago) the finale was all 6-8 of them on this massive percussive "wall" with all sorts of harnesses and things for them to use to make "noise". And of course, every show I've ever seen includes their signature metal garbage cans / lids in some form or another....

If you have a choice, go see the tour version. Amazing show. (It also introduced me to a band I had never heard of before, "Venus Hum". Great band.)

The "local" Toronto show was good, but disappointing and over-priced when compared to the tour show.

It's not that I don't believe that the show is great. I do. I've never known anyone who's seen it that didn't think it was all kinds of magical. But what in the hell is it? Their advertising is awful. Nothing about a group of guys with blue paint on their faces is appealing to me. I don't think to myself, "Wow, those guys are very . . . blue. This I have to see." And the Intel commercials from a few years back that used them certainly didn't make them look particularly entertaining.

That's the one they play at the Panasonic Theater, right? I'm actually glad you say the tour version is better. I thought the one in Toronto was fantastic, so seeing the tour one is sure to be good.

And I didn't think it was overpriced at all. I may have also been saved by decent conversion rates though too.

Yes at Panasonic. It was over $60 a ticket (canadian) yes? Trouble is, I saw the big tour show first, for the same price as this small-scale version. You'll love the big show.

To people who wonder what the hell is so great. It's a big mix of unique music, percussion, special effects, humor, technology, etc. Very entertaining.

Shmokes: You could nay-say any kind of performance. ie: "what's so great about a couple guys with guitars, a drummer, and a bunch of lights?" Just go see it! ;-)
