My 360 is dead Red ring of death

Hi! I would like to know what causes the 360 to just one day out of the blue get the red ring of death?
I've had this 360 for well over a year now with no problems until now the funny thing is I played it last weekend and went to play it tonight and got the red ring  :banghead: Its not a over heating issue so what else could it be?
 :'(

Shoot can a mod please move this to console's Thanks

if it starts fine then you randomly get red lights then its overheat problem. if you get E67 or E68 then its hard drive. anything else depends. try without the hard drive and see if it works.

Hi! Ive tryed to start it w/ out the HDD still the same. I get the ring of death right from the start. Thanks for the help

What exactly does the red ring look like? Depending on which quadrants are lit, it will tell you where the error is. Check this out for a decent list about the different red rings and possible causes for each:
