Hey all. I'm finally getting around to setting up the PC for a cab, and am having some problems with MameWah. I got it basically working using the info in the WIKI, but I get the feeling I'm missing something.

The Wiki mentions several times sub folders and ini files that just aren't there.. ctrlr, and ini files and folders (Not to mention docs) etc.

Is the Wiki info outdated, or did I maybe get the wrong install, am I just thick as a brick or missing something very basic? I got it at http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads.htm and downloaded 1.62B13... am I at an old page and getting outdated installs or something?

I get only the following folders/major ini's..

(root files)
mamewah layout designer.exe
mamewah.exe
mamewah.ini
whatsnew.txt
(folder)config
(folder)files

Sooo. the Wiki helped me get the mamewah.ini set up, but trying more advanced tricks the base structure just isn't there. Am I supposed to generate all the subfolders and INI's?

Any help, pointers or whacks with a big stick and shouting "Hey dummy, how about reading _______ and it will tell you!" are appreciated. :-)

Ohhh yeah, I forgot to mention... all the Docs and help files on the main Mamewah site open as goobleygook... any idea what format they are in? Regular text editors and MS Word couldn't read them.

The second link looks promising, I'll check it out!

Notepad should work fine - they are text documents. Works fine for me. Try right-clicking and saving them, then open locally...

Hit the collapse thread button in the upper right (minus sign), it will make reading the main topics easier..

Well shucks... I went back to the Mamewah site, apparently I had some kind of internet connection/browser snafu. I clicked on the .txt files under help and got garbage. Then I clicked again and still got garbage. Third click and whaddya know... a real text file! Each one took 3 clicks to get it to come up... not sure why, but now I have the info I need! Thanks!
