Stuck in Twilight Princess (Wii)
« on: February 05, 2007, 12:24:38 am »
I'm stuck trying to defeat some Shadow Creatures in Twilight Princess.  I'm up to collecting tears in Kakariko village (I'm a wolf).  I'm up to the last few tears but when I drop down to an area there are shadow creatures - some are behind barriers.  Everytime I do the B button attack to kill all three they return?  What have I missed?

Sometimes they have a 4th one hidden behind a barrier.  You'll need to find and kill that one first.

At that point, I think there's only three. The trick is that you kill one first, and then the other two that are closest together at the same time. They only shriek when one is left, so killing off all but two works. It might take a couple tries though in some areas to get the last two close enough together to hurt them both at the same time.

Those magic invisible walls pop up, and sometimes it seems like one of them is behind the wall and it's impossible to get to him.  Just walk around and you'll find an opening in the wall so you can go in and chew his ass to the ground.  Then you can go out and use the Midna attack to get the other ones simultaneously so they can't shriek to revive each other.

Exactly. For the particular situation in question, the opening is along the left side of the dude. There's just one panel of wall that's missing, but it's hard to spot if you're not looking straight at it.

*SEMI-SPOILER ALERT*
You're also near one of the spots where you can howl to call the wolf spirit for another secret attack. I won't ruin it by telling you where.

Thanks for the replies guys, thought I must have been missing something - I've probably killed the 3 creatures like 20 times already!! but never saw the gap to get to the fourth.

I'll have to give the howling another go too.  Couldn't quite get the hang of it the first time.

By the way, Super Mario 64 on Wii rocks!!  ;D I've only ever played it at length on an emulator on my pc before, but I love being able to just load it up on the Wii.  I'm looking forward to playing Zelda OOT as I've never played that before.

I'm stuck trying to catch the cat. How do you get out of the starting village?

Catch a couple fish right next to where the cat is (in the area the cat is looking).

I got the fishing pole, but the fish aren't biting. Is bait required, or is there a certain technique required for fishing?

Just wait till the bobber gets pulled fully under the surface and give a quick jerk of the wiimote.

You don't need bait. Hang the line down into the water so that the bob stands vertical. Wait for it to sink (that's the bite) and then give it one good tug and hold it in the "up" position until you pull the fish out of the water. There's no reeling involved.
