Odd K7000 Question
« on: February 02, 2007, 12:01:44 am »
I have a 19K7000A monitor that I am working on that had been plugged in without an ISO transformer. (Don't worry, the culprit has had his fingers slapped) I replaced the blown diodes and powered it up, but the colours are all messed up. I thought maybe the thing needed to be degaussed, but the colours are pretty uniformly out. It almost looks like the colours are inverted. Is there any possibilty that the monitor has been modified to accept an inverted video signal to work with a Nintendo game board? Is it even possible to modify a K7000 to do that?

If not, anyone have any suggestions on where I need to look? I don't think this is something a cap kit is going to fix.

I'd say to double check those non polar electrolytics next to the video color preamp transistors on the main board. Then check/replace all three of those preamp transistors.

Looks like it did just need to be degaussed. I plugged in the coil this monring and fired it up and lit looked fine. It was wird though, it was evenly out lal across the screen. Chalk anohter one up to 'weird'.
