HighScores On LCD/BetaBrite ?
« on: January 31, 2007, 07:54:07 pm »
Currently most of the plugins for /add frontend name here/ display the game name and controls using silver's LCD gen. (great program!)
Can they be modified to display "Game Name - High Score"?
I would love to see the high score displayed when someone selects a game.(for those that support it)
Just an idea, What do you all think?

This is quite possible for the plugin I'm writing, the only thing is high scores are supported in newer versions of Mame without a applying a diff right? That's a little off putting for me.

Also, the plugins that use Silvers LCDGen won't work because things like high score data need to be generated dynamically. LCDGen creates static files. My plugin however can output dynamic data because it generates the output on the fly.

If Mame still supported high scores I would be more interested in adding this feature.

Hmmm...
Maybe a personal high score table..
An Ini or cfg of some sort that could be edited manually to add the score?
Just thinking out loud. I'm an IT guy, NOT a programmer! I can build, wire and setup this thing. I just can't make it do things that no-one has done before.
Anyway, I can beta test Betabrite, Sony LCD and soon the LEDwiz (I just received 2 from randy) As you can see it's on the bench!

I installed Whiteboard 1.1 on the wall in my game room.

Has cool scores that my friends got (when they beat me) and a comment about it

:-)

Your welcome to test my Beta Brite plugin for GameEx if you want. It's included in the latest version of the download. It also has LEDWiz support, and I have just ordered some RGB buttons from Randy too ;) I'm going to be re-doing all the buttons on my CP, and moving two of the old buttons to the side for pinball games :)
