trouble with skateball pinball
« on: January 27, 2007, 07:59:02 am »
I have a bally skateball piball game. The problem is if you hit both flippers at the same time the game shuts down. I had a pinball service tech in town look at it and he was unable to determine why. I have changed all the flipper coils with new one. Anybody have any ideas what else to check?

Sounds like a current draw on the power supply of some sorts.......

Take a look here:

Not a technician . . . . just a DIY'er.

Check your bridges first.

Check your power connectors for burnt ones.

This is pinball 101.  Sounds like you need a different tech.

You still want to check your connectors for burnt ones.  Those hard crashes kill connectors and burnt connectors eventually kill other things that are much nastier than a dead filter cap.  Any connector that has burn marks on it or around the male headers needs to be replaced.  Not cleaned, replaced entirely, both male and female sides.
