MaLa & Controls.ini -- Help!
« on: January 15, 2007, 04:08:00 pm »
I have MaLa up and running and really like it so far.  My problem is, I cannot for the life of me get MaLa to display the controls information.  I have download the latest controls dat from http://fe.donkeyfly.com/controls/controls_dat.php (controls.ini.0.106.2) and configured the controls.ini path on the MAME Config / Additional tab in MaLa.  When I pull up the game information screen for a game that I KNOW is listed in the controls.ini, it says "no info found in controls.ini."

I have history.dat set up, and it works great.  I can see all of the history on the game info screen.

What am I missing here??

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response.  I just tried a version of controls.ini from 12/05.  Same result.  I'm dumbfounded...

FIXED IT!

I deleted the mala.ini file and forced MaLa to do its original configration over again with the controls.ini in place beforehand.  After I did this, it works.

Originally, I installed and configured MaLa without a controls.ini there.  I then added the control.ini and set the path in the options after the fact.  Not sure if it was a bug or a fluke, but it's working now.

Thanks!
