Mortal Kombat Armageddon Wii version
« on: January 12, 2007, 05:12:20 pm »
So I am sure there are alot of Mortal Kombat fans here, so how many are getting this game for the Wii?  I might, but it depends on the controls, does anyone know what they will be.  I can't see using the wii mote with this game, I'd much prefer the classic or gamecube controller.

Why would you want the Wii version if it didn't make use of the remote?  I suppose if the Wii is the only next-gen system you own you would have no alternative, but without the remote the Wii is simply inferior in every possible way.

Well some games I want to use the remote some I'd rather have an option just personal preferance.  Also the wii is the only next gen systemI have.

It's likely the game will use the wii-mote
or a gamecube controller similar to Dragonball Z Tenkaichi 2.
MK Armageddon is a fun game.
I have it on the PS2, has a lot of characters.
I heard Tenkaichi 2 was actually kinda' cool with the
wii-mote so maybe Mortal Kombat will be interesting as well.
Unfortunately I haven't been able to procure a Nintendo Wii
to try stuff out yet.

Well mk armageddon is a last gen title and it will NOT be released on any of the next gen systems other than the wii.  So technically you could get the best visual quality from the wii version as it has the most horsepower, but this is midway, so they'll just port the ps2 version as always.

Regardless mk armageddon is a piece of crap, it's the first mk game I didn't buy in the history of mk, and yes that includes sub-zero and shaolin monks.  If you knew how much of a mk fan I am, you would realize how bad it has to be for me not to get it (my avatar is frikkin Shang Tsung for god's sake.)  The only thing that could save it is the wiimote, so let us hope and pray the stephen does NOT get his wish.

Well maybe if I understood how they'd get it to work right I'd be more acceptable.  So how does the wii remote work with dragonball z?

Well the dbz games typically get very low scores because um well they suck.  The wii version is the first one to get a very high score universally and the reason is soley the controls.  To do a kamaya kamaya wave (ryu fireball) you simply make the motion with your hands.  Like a typical fighter the controls are very complicated, but most specials are done via a special motion, which makes it very fun.

I agree with the first statement, but there actually was another dbz fighting game that got decent reviews.  I believe it was DBZ: Budokai 3.  But it does seem that the Wii controls are the highlight of the new one.
