shardian,

No, I did not attend your college and my wife would agree with you about the defeatist apathy thing. Also, I did not want to break anyone's egg shell about possibly filing a case with an Attorney. I worked for an Attorney offfice for ten years which closely worked with OSHA. A couple of things: Was the building built prior to 1970, if so the builders who built the school using Asbestos material would have never known the dangers of using Asbestos or the effects on the human body. Very hard to blame someone for using Asbestos to build a building prior to 1970. Secondly,  a new law has gone into effect, in which buildings built prior to 1970; which were built using Asbestos,  lead paint or found to have other hazardous materials must post a sign near the entry  of a building stating that you are at risk upon entering. Rental properties (built before 1970)  will have to disclose this information prior to renting. Third, upon removing Asbestos, the company removing it must post signs also of the risk. Fourth, If you goto an Attorney and you are asked to put up a retainer fee, then chances are the Attorney knows he wont win the case and must cover the loss with your retainer. An Attorney will work on contingency if he knows he can possibly win a third party case.
So thats my 2 cents worth, ;). Hey all you guys on this board are great people and i didnt mean to offend anyone.
