Trying to make a cab-centric app.img for AdvanceCD...
« on: January 05, 2007, 01:28:12 pm »
As much as i love marble backgrounds and the sound of a crackling fire, the layout of AdvanceCD leaves a little to be desired.  Still, there seems to be a dearth of information available as to how to customize it.

I'm just going to throw a couple questions out here, and if anyone knows the answers, i'd love to get the scoop - - Or if you know of a good information resource (or a nice app.img to download) i'd love to know where it is.  Trust me, I've searched and NOT found.  Normally I like to dork around 'til i figure things out, but if i burn a cd everytime to find out what's wrong i'll never finish this thing.

1.  Is there any way to replace the sound of the crackling fire with 'arcade ambience TM'?  then, is there any way to lower the volume?  I've opened app.img and don't see an option for either in advmenu.rc

2.  Is there any way to force a game list for advmenu?  For instance, I really have no need to play Simpsons 4P on a 2p control panel, plus that limits you to playing as marge and homer.  Or maybe you want pacman front and center instead of puckman.

3.  What name is AdvanceMame expecting for the default cfg file in the ctrlr directory, or will i have to modify something in AdvanceMENU to force a particular ctrlr cfg?

Thanks for any answers, If I get a nice app.img out of this (cab friendly, rather than keyboard friendly) I'd like to make it publicly available.  It's nice to have a cab that you can give to someone and not worry about temp files, hard drive crashes, pulled plugs etc...  BULLETPROOF!
