Can Spy Hunter work with a spinner?
« on: January 03, 2007, 05:35:14 pm »
Forgive me if this has been covered before. Can't find an answer via a search:

Can Spy Hunter be made to emulate sterring via a spinner? I config'd my driving games, like Pole Position, to have my Tornado spinner function as the wheel; my analog UltraStik functioning as the pedal, and button 1 working as the shift. But I can't get Spy Hunter to work the same. All I can do is control direction and pedal simulataneously via the analog stick, which doesn't function well. Is it possible to config as I desire. Or will it not work because Spy Hunter was originally a 270-degree wheel?

Yes, but you won't have the autocenter of a 270 wheel, so going straight is harder.  Remap the "paddle analog" while in the game (tab, "Input (this game)", "P1 paddle analog", enter, spin spinner).  You might need to adjust the sensitivety (tab, "analog controls", etc).  MameFAQ goes into more detail.
