Wells d9200 discontinued.....
« on: December 28, 2006, 09:21:56 pm »
I just checked on wells site and the d9200 line is getting discontinued? Is this because of the problems/complaints they have been having or just lack of demand? I was looking into getting a d9200 chassis, but perhaps i should not. Do they change res's automatically or is manual res switching?

The 9200 has actually been discontinued for a little while now. It had so many problems and complaints. It's been replaced by the even worse 9500 series. Foster at the forums of www.vendoramusements.com will tell you all about the MANY problems he's had with the 9200 and Wells-Gardner monitors in general.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty clear from all that hubbub to stay away from WG multi-syncs, all together.

I found  a guy who will throw me a really good deal on a 9200 chassis....its fully working and hate to pass it up. Im not sure if my existing yoke will work though..What V and H impedence does the 9200 boards need? Its a 27" chassis.  My yoke now is giving me a horizontal reading of 2 ohms and an vertical of 8.2 ohms....does anybody know if this is compliant with a d9200 board?

NO!

The 9200 has a very special yoke with a couple of extra pincushion/keystone correction sections/connections.

Does alva amusements not check their email?? I have emailed them for prices countless times and have never recieved anything back.  I suppose calling is a better way to do buisness with them?

Yes, you have to call them at Alva. Be advised Alva is closed for vacation until Jan 3.

I don't know if i will be able to use my existing yoke or not. The v ohms is 8.2 and the horizontal is 2 ohms.   I need to get them2628H chassis that doesnt require the isolation transformer. Ken, given the impedence of my yoke, will this chassis be a perfect swap or will i for certain need the yoke as well? Also, if I do have to get the yoke, does this mean i have to align the convergence /purity rings ?

What does this have to do with the thread title of the 9200 being discontinued? What are you trying to do? I'm a little confused here. ??? Have you left out something?
