Width for a wells Gardner 27"
« on: March 31, 2003, 09:59:12 pm »
I am planning on getting a d9200 monitor form Wells Gardner.  From the spec sheet on their website it is 24.39 inches wide.  So basically any size abover this will work right.  Is it better to have less space or more space between the sides and the monitor.

Of those that have this monitor, what width is your cab?

I have this monitor.  My cabinet is 27" wide between the two large sides (I used 3/4" MDF so the total width is 28.5").  I made a 2x4 rectangular frame to slide the monitor into, and it fit just perfectly on the sides.  So although the total width might be larger than 24", it will slide into a wooden frame that is exactly 24" (27" - 1.5" - 1.5").

my new discs of tron cab is 26.25" total width. the monitor has a quarter inch of space on each side inside the cab. i didnt have a problem putting the monitor in and out. i probably could have gotten away with making the cab a total width of 26". most early eighties cabs ive looked at for inspiration are about 25" wide.

Is that measurement of the total width of your cab the inside space of the total width from outside edge to outside edge?  If it is the latter how thick is your wood?

Just remember to measure the doorways and any other tight spots around your domicile before you decide on the overall width, it would suck to have to play your cab in the garage if you couldn't fit it through the door!  :)

that was my main concern, I want it as narrow as I can to be able to move it around but also wanted to make sure that the mointor would fit/funtcion properly with my width.
