Do you only want actual soundtracks from games or are you fine with remixes?

Heres a site that has a lot of really good redone game music. www.ocremix.org

One of my favorites is Punch-Out!! 'Little Mac's Confession'   http://www.ocremix.org/remix/OCR00605/

Also, I remember Vampire: The Masquerade had some good music, it even came with an audio cd when you bought the game.  I also like a number of songs from Command & Conquer: Red Alert.   I just downloaded the Katamari Damacy soundtrack which is best described as unique.

Jet Set Radio! Soundtrack is excellent.

thanks guys im looking into these recs.

i dont mind remixes but it depends.  when i went to vgmusic.com or something of that nature they had rock anthem for saving the world (halo ce) and when i heard the cd version it was different.  im assuming they had to alter it or something but i prefer the tracks from the game.  thats not a rule though as sometimes the remix is better.

thanks.

Tony Hawk usually had good music.  Tony Hawk 3 had the best soundtrack of the series IMO.

I have some tony hawk from the first, ernies is good, and i found the command and conquer tracks.  They are good for any time listening but now im trying to find something different, like music to chainsaw to.  Ive been playing gow with a friend and i really want something to gib people to.  bodies is good and if i can find it the thread about what song would you go on a spree or whatever to.

i still have to find jet grind and the vampire albums.  hmmmm maybe amazon has previews for these.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines may be the kind of thing your looking for.  I'm not a fan of most of the songs, but they may be just what you want.

Yeah some seem overly gothic (goes with the theme of the game) but otherwise they sound good musicly (so many games use techo music now).

the tiamat song reminds me of the old dungeons and dragons cartoon with the multiheaded dragon tiamat.  lol has anyone seen the naruto spoof of d&d?

Ive recently found a sound clip from Gears of War and its pretty good.  I hope they release the safe music from the game soon it is really good.

i just got the jet set radio sample disc and its got some decent music.  i may even have to look into the game.  which soundtrack do you recommend there are like 4.

I second ocremix.org, I am such an addict for that site. I've got around 3 gigs of that stuff sitting on a folder in my desktop for when I need my fix. I got the Ikaruga score as mp3s from some Ikaruga fan site a whiles back, don't remember the site. All that stuff and anime theme songs do nicely for me.

Vampire was a great game (haven't played the new one still), and I remember burning the music to CDs to listen to, but thinking back, I kinda thought most of that music was kinda lame now. Mostly just because it looped so much with little variation, which is OK for a video game.

When Killer Instinct came out for the SNES, some copies came with a soundtrack CD included. Not to bad if I remember correctly....
