How to copy xbox backups (how to copy xbox copies)
« on: December 24, 2006, 10:51:49 am »
I kept reading that this couldn't be done, then I stumbled upon a post somewhere where a kid said he did it with Alcohol, I tried it and it works on my modded Xbox.

Here's how:

1. insert the xbox backup disk into PC's dvd drive
2. start "120"
3. click image making wizard
4. under "session" - click "01". Then click "next"
5. under "image location" - choose location. Then click "next"
6. locate "file.mdf" and change it to "file.ISO"
7. Burn as normal ISO, I use Nero  @ lowest speed.

Cheers,
Craig

You can also do it with DVD Decryptor.

Put backup XBOX DVD in DVD drive
Open DVD Decryptor
Choose ISO MODE (instead of FILES)
Click Start.

It creates an ISO and MDF (or MDS, I don't remember) file for you.

Use ImgBurn or Nero to burn the ISO to a DVD

It works!

Copying copies is actually very easy... were you perhaps reading about copying original games??

You can use Nero, Alcohol, CloneCD, DVD Decrypter and I'm sure most others to make copies of already burned games.  It's the originals that would give you some trouble.

Xbox copies can't be read in window's explorer, try it out, it's not like PS2.

I know that, but that's because the file structure isn't native to Windows.  That doesn't mean you can't make copies of a copy though.  Almost any burning program will be able to make a copy of an already backed up Xbox game because the "hard part" has already been done.

So you can likely use any burning program you'd like :)

If nothing else - this thread will be Googled to counter the threads elsewhere that say you can't copy copies
