High-Pitch Screech OK?
« on: December 21, 2006, 04:01:26 pm »
When my monitor is not synced up to my JPAC card (ie: when I first power the cabinet,  before the bios screen and when I power down the PC before I turn off the cabinet) the moniter puts out a very high-pitch screech..the screen goes "greyish"...and you can see th scan lines viberate interlaced mode-like.

I'm guessing it's not a huge issue for it to do this the short times between power on and the bios screen and at power off...but is it bad for the unit to run it long-term with it squeeling and what not?

...and exactly IS screaming bloody murder back there?   ...and can I adjust it out?  \

PS: Once the JPAC syncs up with the monitor,  the screeching stops and the monitor looks nice.

I can not power my monitor from my PC PSU...it's an arcade monitor.  It is hooked up to a transformer...

The montor works splendidly...just emits this whine when it's not synced with the JPAC card...(ie: before and after the PC is running).  While the PC is running and synced up,  the monitor works great AND whine free!

i am pretty sure it will not damage the monitor,if you fed the wrong frequency to it then possibly but no signal should not cause any problem.i bet if you played with the hor hold pot then the whine would settle down
