I couldn't connet to the Shop Channel until I read a post suggesting that I set my wireless router's channel to 1 or 11. Once I changed it from "Auto" to "Channel 1" I was able to connect and download faster.

That is strange, the only one that I could get my bro-in-laws Wii to work with was channel 11.  It would not work on 6, like Howards.  Different strokes for different Wiis, I suppose.
Reality is overrated.

Ditto on changing the channel on the router. It was weird that the Wii would be able to connect to a neighbor's network but it wouldn't connect to my MR314 (B only) router three feet away. So I changed the channel to 1 and now it works. (128-bit WEP encryption turned on)
I have changed my nickname to "Cakemeister". Please do not PM the Buddabing account because I do not check it anymore.
