HAPP vs ALVA
« on: December 13, 2006, 09:54:53 am »
Welp...it seems I am going to have to purchase a new standard res monitor.  The best deal on the net that I can find is ALVAAMUSEMENT's "EYGO" G07 type monitor.  It is $139.00 + $50 or so to ship.   Around $189-$190 total.

My other option is a Happ Vision Pro from arcade shop amusements.  They want $179.00 + $39 or so to ship.   Around $218-$220 or so total.

I am not sure what kind of warranty the ALVA monitor offers.   The Happ monitor comes with a 1 year warranty.    Also,  when I call ALVA,  I speak with an asian lady or man that are somewhat difficult to converse with.   When I call Arcade Shop,   I get a native sounding American.

Does anyone have any experiences with these two brands...good and/or bad?

Thanks!

Both are fine.

Alva sells the Wei-ya brand. Eygo no longer exists. Eygo was an American distributor of Wei-ya located in Texas. Don't forget that Billabs is also a Wei-ya distributor and they speak English there.

Arcadeshop sells the Happ which is really a Tovis brand.

To add, here, I had some decently prompt and fairly informational email with Billabs.

Geez plans change fast....as I was getting ready to pull the trigger on a monitor purchase I was given the idea of just replacing the chasis...and a new EYGO is only $45.00 plus S&H.  I figured...not a bad idea...I get ready to order and I get an email from a guy who saw my craigslist WANTED posting.

I am going over to check out a 19" Electrohome G07 in about 5 minutes.  He wants $40.00....
